Aloha Kai Safety Ambassadors volunteer at Napili and Kapalua Bay beaches on designated high-risk ocean days, offering visitors friendly, timely safety information and encouraging them to stay out of dangerous water.
Ambassadors do not enforce rules, enter the water, or perform rescues—their role is to help prevent emergencies through respectful, face-to-face outreach.
We are trained on site by the Ocean Safety department of the Maui Fire Department. We wear sun shirts and hats provided by the program to identify ourselves as volunteers.

- Gain practical ocean-safety knowledge for themselves and their families.

- Care for the beaches they love through meaningful, outdoor community service.
The program is funded by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and managed by the Maui Nui Visitor Assistance Program.
Gift cards are currently being offered per shift of at least 2 hours.
