Kōkua Day with Kula Community Watershed Alliance
Come join us for a day of mālama 'āina as part of KCWA's Kula Fire Restoration Project on Saturday, April 6th, from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
The Kula Community Watershed Alliance is launching a series of "Kōkua Days" where we will be working together to ensure the health of our watersheds. The focus of this Kōkua Day is weeding invasive Black Wattle keiki seedlings and invasive fireweed from a part of the burn scar that has started to see a lot of invasive species regrowth after recent rains.
Please wear closed toe, comfortable shoes, cover arms and legs for sun protection (a hat is good idea too), and bring work gloves and a water bottle.
We've got an experienced conservation volunteer organizer that will help our group cover a lot of ground with hand weeding for a few hours, and then we'll gather in a shady spot for lunch and talk story about the Kula Community Watershed Alliance's work and future plans before heading home. Lunch will be provided. (Please indicate any allergies or dietary preferences when signing up.) Participants need to be able to hike on sloped land, and should be able to commit to staying on site until at least 12 noon.
This opportunity is limited to 20 total people, so please make sure to RSVP to secure your spot. RSVPs close on Thursday at 5pm.
We will share the meeting place with you after you sign up.
We look forward to getting our hands dirty with you. A hui hou!
