Description

Hāli`imaile Community Garden & Hāli`imaile Micro Farms is seeking a volunteer Grant Writer.  The Grant Writer is responsible for the research, development, and preparation of grant proposals to funding sources. The Grant Writer works in collaboration with programs and the Treasurer.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new grant opportunities.
  • Create & modify current grant proposal templates.
  • Ensure quality applications are prepared, presented, and submitted by the deadline.
  • Develop budget reports, budget summaries, and budget narratives with the Treasurer.
  • Prepare all grant follow up reports with key milestones and progress to funders.
  • Prepare personalized thank you notes to private foundations.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Superior writing, editing, and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to conduct research via the internet, library, and other sources.
  • Ability to turn data into compelling narrative form.
  • Knowledge of budgeting process and outcomes measurement.
  • Ability to work with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to deadlines, and be attentive to details.
  • Strong project management, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with funders, board members, volunteers, and other professionals involved in fundraising.
