The Sewing Hui is happy to share our monthly beginner sewing workshop for those who have never or rarely used a sewing machine before, and feel unsure about getting started. These sessions are designed to help participants learn the very basics: how to thread a machine, sew a seam, and gain the confidence needed to join our Sewing Sewcials.
YOUR KULEANA - To participate, there are two things for you to do:
(1) Volunteer with The Sewing Hui during the month before the workshop. Non-sewing tasks will count - cutting fabric, prepping projects, organizing the studio, errands, and other tasks. You can volunteer in the studio or at home.
(2) Bring worn out textiles to use as stuffing for our Teddy Bear Project.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The workshop is on Sunday August 17th from 9am-12pm OR 1pm-4pm. The event is FREE. There is limited space so please email thesewinghui@gmail.com to sign up.
