A day spent by the sea is never a day wasted. What better way to enjoy it than making the space more beautiful than when you found it? There are many beach clean up days around the island sponsored by many organizations. Any of those will be a great volunteer day. Coming up on July 16, you can join the nonprofit What Makes You Feel Beautiful for a morning of cleaning up at Sugar Beach and the Kealia boardwalk area. Historic Grounds Landscaping
There is still a serene patch of grounds representing the glory days of the Maui sugarcane era flanked by the last two original Puunene camp homes constructed in 1902. Spend time this summer in the shady trees of a long ago time on our island home caring for the beautiful property. Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is in need of folks to plant, weed, prune, trim, rake and water on the museum grounds, directly across the street from the historic sugar mill. This is a great opportunity to connect with nature and contribute to the care of the Sugar Museum, which is a community resource.
