Who We Are

Volunteers of Legacy of Life Hawai'i help us raise awareness to the over 123,000 thousand people on the national organ transplant wait list. With close to 450 of those people living in Hawaii, most of our volunteers have had some connnection to organ transplant - perhaps as a family of somone who passed and lives on thru the gift of life, or maybe they know someone on the wait list, are a medical professional who is familiar with our work, or even transplant recipients. We have also enjoyed working with the Lions Clubs and Leo Clubs on different islands. Our volunteers prepare educational materials, staff our informational booth at health fairs and other public venues, attend proclamation signings, and make and wear our green ribbons!!

What We Do

Legacy of Life Hawai'i is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and is the only organization in Hawai'i federally designated to recover organs and tissue for transplant. We integrate our work in organ/tissue recovery and organ allocation with a leading role in public education, hospital development and family services.

Legacy of Life Hawai'i's team is made up of some of the finest people in the industry. This group, truly dedicated to our mission of saving lives through recovering organs and tissue for transplant, provides the complete range of services required to effectively recover donated organs and tissue, support donor families, establish and maintain good relationships with our island hospitals and inspire our diverse communities to donate the gift of life. The team at Legacy of Life Hawai'i believes in what we do, and strives each day to make a difference in people's lives.

Legacy of Life Hawai'i also works closely with the Hawai'i Lions Eye Bank Makana Foundation to promote eye donation.
