Within the DLNR-DOFAW, their are four management sections: Forestry, Wildlife, Na Ala Hele Trails and Access and Natural Area Reserve. These volunteer opportunities will be for the Keanae Arboretum, which is located within the Koolau Forest Reserve (managed by the Forestry Section). The Forestry Section is responsible for the overall natural resource management of approximately 80,000 acres located within 9 forest reserves on Maui and Molokai. Some of our management duties include, but are not limited to; native tree outplanting, wildland fire management, noxious/invasive weed suppression, arboretum maintenance/management, etc.
