Who We Are

AARP is a non-profit social mission organization with 140,000 members age 50 and older in Hawaii. We advocate and educate on issues important to older adults and their families - such as family caregiving, financial resilience, fraud prevention, livable communities, and more.  Our goal is to empower people to choose how they want to live as they age.

What We Do

We engage volunteers in grass roots advocacy, public education, community service, communications, and fun with purpose. Our volunteers help in a myriad of ways, based on their interests and abilities.

  • coordinate and staff local and online events
  • speak to the public about important issues
  • participate in community service projects
  • engage policy makers through letters, email, and meetings
  • amplify our activities through social media
  • participate in radio interviews
  • build relationships with community organizations
  • lead other volunteers
