Who We Are
The 292nd Combat Communications Squadron (CBCS) is a combat communications unit within the Hawaii Air National Guard located on the island of Maui. Since relocating in 1977 from Hickam Air Force Base, the 292nd's mission is to maintain well-trained, well-equipped airmen available for prompt mobilization during war and provide assistance during national emergencies such as natural disasters and civil disturbances.
What We Do
292d CBCS serves to protect Hawaii and support federal efforts to maintain strategic dispersal of emergency communications. We build strength in the communities we serve, both locally on Maui and globally. Airmen serve near where they live and receive cutting-edge training that employers want. The 292nd provides critical communications support for state emergencies during the COVID19 pandemic and the 2018 Kilauea eruptions.
