Do you love Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center and its gorgeous historic property and gardens? Would you like to use your love of gardening to help give back to the arts community through volunteering? The Hui is looking for individuals to assist us with our grounds and gardens. You will work with our Hui Facilities Manager and other members of the community to maintain different areas around our property on Friday, Oct. 27th from 10am - 2pm.
Description/Purpose:
Aid in maintaining the outdoor gardens and terraces of the visitor center. We will match your skills and interest with the perfect volunteer gardening tasks.
Tasks include:
- Removal of weeds
- Sweeping & raking
- Weed whacking
- General gardening (pruning, planting)
Good Match For:
- Kids over 12 and teens under 18 accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Adults
- Those who love the outdoors!
Time Commitment and Schedule Details:
- Friday, October 27th / Hours between 10am - 2pm
- 2-4 hrs, flexible
Additional Information:
- Must be at least 12 accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Willing to learn, willing to take guidance, enjoy being outdoors, basic gardening knowledge.
- Being flexible and able to work in various gardens.
- Please come prepared in comfortable work clothes, with covered shoes, a hat, sunscreen, drinking water, rain jacket, kneeling pad and gardening gloves and/or hand pruners(if you have these).
- We’ll require you to sign a liability waiver when you arrive.
