The County of Maui is hosting a storm drain painting project to celebrate World Oceans Day. The painting event is part of the County’s Storm Water Management Program that is intended to reduce discharge of pollutants from the land and protect water quality.
- Volunteers are asked to walk High, Main, and Market Streets and paint awareness messages of “No Dumping – Drains to Ocean” at storm drain inlets.
- Storm drain painting messages help people be mindful of how their actions on land can affect our stream and ocean health.
- Bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hat, and reusable water bottle. All stenciling supplies will be provided at the event.
