Join us at Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD). According to the National Environmental Education Foundation, NPLD is a day of service and an opportunity to give back, build community, and enjoy the public lands that support our health, environment, and well-being. The Friends of Keālia Pond National Wildlife Refuge and U.S. Fish and Wildlife are hosting an open house event for the community to get an exclusive look into the work of the Refuge and volunteer in citizen science. You will get a chance to: Propagate native plants in the shade house, contribute to a citizen science iNaturalist project, birdwatch at the pond at sunset with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Staff, enjoy snacks provided by the Friends. All ages are welcome, this is a free event. Please register.
