“Kanu ka ʻulu, ulu ke kaiāulu” - Plant ʻulu, grow a community.
Lā ʻUlu (Breadfruit Day) brings the community together to celebrate all things ʻulu at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens. This year, long-form presentations from ʻulu experts will be available as online webinars ahead of the main event. On event day, in addition to live entertainment from local musicians and hālau, there will be cooking demonstrations and recipe sharing throughout the day, and short “talk story” sessions on the main stage. Food, cultural demonstrations, and keiki activities too!
Volunteer opportunities include: parking monitor, zero waste station, cultural activity assistant, breakdown, and more. Shifts start on Wednesday, September 3rd. Sign up to volunteer here: https://mnbg.ivolunteer.com/laulu_2025
