The Kumu Mea Kanu project is designed to reconnect and strengthen students’ relationships with their land, food, and community via hybrid garden learning. We assemble and distribute garden learning kits to students and pair them with an online curriculum and related video lessons. These kits included an age-appropriate garden journal, colored pencils, magnifying lenses, pots, soil, and seeds.
On Tuesday, January 14th, we are going to pre-assemble 867 Kumu Mea Kanu Grow Kits for K-5 students across Maui - this means bagging soil and sorting items for assembly. These pre-assembled packs will then get finished and delivered over the weekend by another group of volunteers. Come join us for a fun day of pre-assembly!
