It's our favorite time of year! Spring is in the air and it's time to celebrate the hardworking, dedicated, passionate people who volunteer their time to the Maui community. The nomination period for the annual Volunteer Hero Celebration of Service is now open. Any individual currently volunteering with a nonprofit organization in Maui County is eligible to be nominated. The nomination period ends April 1, 2022.
This is an opportunity for nonprofit leaders to recognize outstanding volunteers. Volunteer Hero Nominations can be submitted by any nonprofit organization in Maui County. Recognizing a volunteer who goes above and beyond typical duties or makes a significant difference in the success of a nonprofit mission is key to retaining volunteers.

"Recognizing Maui's volunteers is a highlight of our year," explains Wendy Stebbins, our Volunteer Center Coordinator. "Everyone who volunteers their time to help our community is a hero. We are proud to join our nonprofit organizations in showing their sincere gratitude to the individuals whose dedication and commitment truly make a difference in the lives of others."
We cannot wait to announce and recognize this year's Volunteer Heroes on social media during National Volunteer Week (April 17, 2022 - April 23, 2022). Every nominee will receive a Certificate of Recognition from the County Of Maui and a classic Volunteer Hero T-shirt.
The deadline to submit an application is April 1, 2022. Only one nominee application is accepted per organization. The nominating organization submitting an application must be a nonprofit or government volunteer program.
