There is still a long road to recover and to rebuild people's lives, homes, and hearts after the devastating Maui wildfires. The need for volunteer residents and visitors is higher than ever.


To best assist passionate individuals seeking opportunities to help Maui, we have compiled a guide to known organizations actively working towards fire recovery.


*Dozens of non-fire relief organizations need hard working volunteers as well. Please see our full list of Maui County Nonprofits here, and feel free to reach out to them for their specific needs.

Register as a Hawaii Red Cross Volunteer. Please note that this involves an application, background check, and training. It is possible to streamline your application by visiting the headquarters location:

 Common Ground Collective

Providing meals for those in need both in shelters and out in the community at various community hubs. This non-profit is looking for monetary donations as well.

Our Kūpuna's mission is to connect low-income homebound kūpuna with volunteers who can shop and deliver groceries, medication and other necessary supplies.


Volunteer positions include: remote administrative volunteer and shop/delivery of essentials to kupuna.

Na Hoaloha volunteers provide escorted transportation for seniors who need to go to the grocery store, medical appointments, and errands. The friendly visitor program provides support through socialization and friendship.

Feed My Sheep Lahaina Distribution Center

Feed My Sheep Maui needs volunteers in Lahaina every Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm behind the Kahana Gateway Shopping Center. Volunteers arrive 30 minutes early to receive orientation and assignments.

Feed My Sheep Maui needs volunteers in Kahului Saturdays 8:30 am to 12 pm for weekly Kahului Distribution at the former site of the Maui Swap Meet.

Maui Food Bank works with over 100 partner agencies and programs to distribute safe and nutritious food to those in need.

Maui Rescue Mission's mobile outreach offers pop-up locations in Lahaina, Kihei and Kahului where people in need can get free laundry service, private hot showers, hygiene and first aid items, clothing, connections to other resources such as food, shelter, medical insurance and medical appointments, detox and rehab, ID replacement, etc.


Volunteers needed on Mondays 12 pm - 4 pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 10 am - 2 pm.

Maui Rapid Response is a Ahupuaʻa based community disaster response team. Linking resources directly to local families in need. Donations and volunteers are needed at the donation hubs in Makawao 9 am - 12 pm and Kihei 10 am - 5 pm during the weekdays.

Pacific Birth Collective invites you to volunteer at the Donation Center at the Aloha 'Aina Center in Haiku. Help sort and organize donations and fill orders that are going directly to the Lahaina and Maui community. There is no set shift, please come for as long as you are able to help!
