Who We Are

We are the Maui Pig Sanctuary, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on Maui, Hawai'i. We have two locations on the island of Maui: • Makawao Sanctuary: Our 2.5-acre sanctuary is home to over 30 rescued pigs. • Kahului Sanctuary: Our private 8-acre sanctuary in Kahului, providing a serene setting for our 50 pigs. This includes the remarkable Lahaina Fire Survivors and a group of retired pigs from a local farm. We are a community-supported, all-volunteer organization committed to providing a safe, loving, and permanent home for over 80 rescued pigs. Our identity is rooted in compassion and deep commitment to the well-being and happiness of these gentle animals.

What We Do

At Maui Pig Sanctuary, we are committed to providing a loving and nurturing environment for over 80 pigs across our two Maui locations in Makawao and Kahului. We are dedicated to ensuring every pig, from the smallest KuneKune to our brave Lahaina Fire Survivors, receives a life of dignity and comfort. All of this is done as an all-volunteer, community supported organization. Our daily efforts include: • Exceptional Animal Welfare: Delivering comprehensive care, from routine check-ups and emergency veterinary services to specialized dietary needs. • Maintaining Safe Havens: Operating and upkeeping two specialized facilities that offer secure shelter, food, and nurturing environments for all our residents. • Fostering Community Connection: Engaging with the public through educational tours and outreach, raising crucial awareness and generating vital support for our pigs. Ultimately, everything we do is driven by our unwavering focus on the comfort, health, and happiness of each cherished pig in our care.
