Imua Family Services - Nā Keiki O Emalia program

Nā Keiki O Emalia was founded in 2015 with the belief that every child, teen, and adult deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive, understanding environment. Our society often fails to recognize or understand the unique needs of grievers, particularly young ones, who may experience and display grief differently from adults.

In 2025, we’re proud to mark 10 years of providing compassionate care to Maui’s grieving keiki, teens, and their families—a decade of hope and healing. This year also celebrates an important milestone: our first successful year as part of Imua Family Services. United, we’re stronger and better equipped than ever to support Maui’s children on their journeys through grief.

Nā Keiki O Emalia is dedicated to providing compassionate and professional support to bereaved children and teens in our community. Our mission is to offer a space where grieving youth can connect with others who have experienced similar losses and receive guidance from trained facilitators. We coordinate peer support groups within schools and the community that are free of cost and allow children and teens to build supportive relationships with their peers.
