Who We Are

We are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, Maui Memorial Hospital Volunteers, operating within the hospital for over 50 years.

We provide volunteer services and use money from the Gift Shop and some fundraising activity to provide scholarships to medical personnel, Junior Volunteers and items for the hospital. We purchased a self-playing piano for the hospital lobby a few years ago to celebrate our 50 years of service there.

We are community members who can give 4 hours a week with a love for helping people. We have patient contact and non-contact activities.  We also have a Junior Volunteer Program for students 14 to 18.

What We Do

We provide volunteer services to Maui Health, the major hospital on Maui at the hospital in Wailuku. Some activities include:

Operate a book cart for patients twice a week, help out in education, provide cookies and iced tea to employees and visitors twice a week. Operate a volunteer Gift Shop five days a week, greet visitors entering the hospital and help them find their way.  Making birthday leis for a future project that can be done right from home.  Additional projects include:  assisting with Compassionate Companions, the No Person Dies Alone Project, helping with the Clothes Closet, a project to send those who need, clean clothes to leave the hospital. Help staff the information desks, Visit patients through the Aloha Committee, help to staff the Doctor's Lounge.

We are currently in need of volunteers to staff the Gift Shop and join our Compassionate Companions.
