Welcome to HandsOn Maui!

This site makes it easier than ever to be a volunteer and to find and coordinate volunteers. We are excited to make community change more accessible to more people.
HandsOn Maui, a program of the Department of Human Concerns, Volunteer Center, is a proud affiliate of the HandsOn Network, the volunteer-focused arm of the Points of Light Institute. As such, we adopted the national logo in 2011 to highlight our affiliation with HandsOn's mission to inspire, equip, and mobilize people to change lives through service. HandsOn is the largest volunteer network in the nation and includes more than 250 Action Centers in 16 countries.
If you have any questions about the functionality of our website call us at any time at (808)270-7150. We hope you enjoy navigating through the new HandsOn Maui and thank you for wanting to Be the Change in Maui County.
About me: After getting my B. S. from the University of Iowa, I worked as the Recreation Director for a long term care facility in Honolulu, HI. Following this position I continued my career in Volunteer Management at the Waikiki Health Center, managing a Friendly Neighbor Program for isolated elderly in Waikiki. I became aware of the public health concerns of the elderly and sought my Masters in Public Health at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Moving to Maui in 2000, I held positions with the County of Maui, Office on Aging and Grants Management Division. In 2007 I became the County of Maui’s Volunteer Center, Volunteer Coordinator. I currently serve as the Vice President of the Hawaii Network of Volunteer Leaders.
